Please adhear to safe practices when dealing with this situation

Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some cases of the common cold, while more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS, and COVID-19. Symptoms in other species vary: in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory tract disease, while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhea. There are yet to be vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections.

Hello my Sun Lakes friends & neighbors:

I hope this finds everyone safe & healthy. These are very uncertain times, so we do our best to stay connected. Many of you receiving this e-mail are aware of my volunteer connections with the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority/Sun Lakes Fire (Battalion 231).

You will find beneath my message an e-mail from Kim Campbell who is an Emergency Manager for AFMA. It is self-explanatory as far as the need for “Plan B” cloth masks. We are using these masks to protect the patients during care and ensuring healthcare providers who are without masks will have protection.

If you, your friends or any group that you might know of are interested in making and donating masks to AFMA/Sun Lakes Fire, it would be appreciated. Please share this with anyone who might be interested.

If interested, contact the Sun Lakes Fire Corps Lead LouAnn Sedgwick at 480 -735-9220
